Crusader Alkalinity Enhancement Cartridge
FLT-UC-ALK
Replacement Cartridge for Crusader Under-Counter Alkalinity Enhancement Filter
(3 to 5 year residential service life)
Your reverse osmosis system does something extraordinary: it removes contaminants your family should never be drinking. Once the RO membrane strips out dissolved minerals and other contaminants, the product water typically drops to pH 5.0 to 6.5 and carries near-zero alkalinity. That water is acidic, aggressive toward plumbing and fixtures, and tastes “empty”. The FLT-UC-ALK cartridge fixes all of that.
What It Does
Our safe blended mineral media dissolves into the water, correcting pH to the 7.0 to 7.6 range and restoring bicarbonate alkalinity to approximately 40 to 80 mg/L as CaCO3. The treated water exits your dedicated RO faucet with a balanced mineral profile comparable to premium bottled water: calcium in the range of 20 to 60 mg/L, meaningful alkalinity, and a TDS in the 40 to 80 mg/L range.
Why this cartridge is important for your home and health
- Taste. Mineral-stripped RO water tastes empty and slightly sour. Restoring minerals, and bicarbonate at modest concentrations produces the freshness and body that makes premium bottled water taste the way it does. You will taste the difference.
- Infrastructure protection. Acidic water will attack brass faucet valves, copper tubing, solder joints, icemaker components, and refrigerator supply lines. The FLT-UT-ALK gently balances RO water to a non-corrosive pH, and builds a thin protective nanofilm on metallic surfaces.
- Bicarbonate buffering. pH correction without alkalinity is temporary. This cartridge adds real buffering capacity, meaning the water resists pH fluctuation as it travels through downstream components. That stability matters for tea, coffee and espresso equipment, ice makers, and any appliance connected to your RO line.
